Organized on Oct. 8, 1886, the Chicago Philatelic Society (CPS) is American Philatelic Society (APS) Chapter No.1, and one of the two organizations with the longest uninterrupted service to philately in the United States.

In celebration of 30 years of Plate Number Coil Collectors Club (PNC3) this year (the first Plate Number Coil stamp, Scott 1891 18c Flag was issued in 1981) The Plate Coil Collectors Club offers a sample edition of the Coil Line, the award winning monthly journal of the Plate Number Coil Collectors Club. The Americana Unit was founded in 1951 by members of the American Topical Association who were interested in stamps from around the world that depict some aspect of  "AMERICANA". The unit publishes a quarterly journal called the
Americana Philatelic News.
